About the Artist
Kevin Vandivier creates museum-grade, limited edition fine art rooted in story, truth, and the rugged beauty of the American landscape. Each piece is hand-finished, signed, and produced on archival materials designed to last generations. KevinV.com exists for collectors seeking works of emotional depth, technical mastery, and enduring value.
For more than four decades, Vandivier has shaped the visual language of American photography. His career spans assignments for the National Geographic Society, Life, Newsweek, Citgo, IBM, Orvis, and dozens of other respected magazines and corporations. His eye for truth and story has carried him from the backroads of Texas to some of the most iconic landscapes in the country.
Vandivier began his professional journey in the early 1980s as a staff photographer for The Dallas Times Herald, where he developed his signature blend of patience, empathy, and narrative timing. In the mid-2000s, he joined Texas Highways Magazine as Photography Editor, helping guide the publication’s celebrated visual identity.
In 2019, Vandivier stepped away from commercial assignments to dedicate himself fully to fine art photography — returning to the work that has always moved him deepest. His limited edition work centers on two themes: the raw, spiritual power of the landscape, and the quiet dignity of human life. Every piece reflects the heart of a storyteller and the discipline of a craftsman.
His photographs and editorial leadership have earned numerous national awards, including honors from Best of Photojournalism and Ron Howard’s Project Imagination, where his image “The Unknown” became the inspiration for a narrative short film. These recognitions reflect not only technical excellence, but the emotional resonance that defines his work.
Today, Vandivier’s fine art is collected by those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and the beauty of the natural world. His work continues to inspire with its honesty, its depth, and its unwavering sense of wonder.
“I photograph the quiet truth of the places that God has touched.”
